Here are answers to questions we've gotten about the Carabiner Bottle.
Why is a built in carabiner useful?
- Losing your water bottle in the backcountry isn't just annoying, its dangerous. The built in carabiner makes it easy to keep your bottle close by and secure. No extra clips, no stress.
- Traveling with a bottle can be annoying. There isn't always a convenient place to put it, and there's always a risk of it getting lost. With a Carabiner Bottle, when you're moving through airports airports, train stations, or busy streets, you know where your bottle is and that it's secure, keeps your hands and mind free for adventure.
- Having fast access to your bottle makes it easy to stay hydrated (or caffeinated). Being able to clip it to the front of your pack, a side bag, or even a belt loop means you don’t have to stop, take your pack off, or dig through your gear just to take a drink.

Are Nuataaq bottles lead free?
Nuataaq uses a lead free solder in all our products. We third party test to ensure our products are lead free and exceed global safety standards. Many insulated bottles use lead in the sealing process, but it was an easy decision for us to avoid lead entirely. You shouldn’t have to worry about hidden toxins in something you drink from every day.
Are Nuataaq bottles BPA and PFAS free?
Nuataaq products are BPA and PFAS free. Just like with lead, our products are third party tested to ensure they are free of harmful toxins. We don't cut any corners and take health very seriously, just clean and safe materials you can trust.
Is there a warranty on Nuataaq bottles?
Every Nuataaq bottle is backed by our Buy It For Life policy. If your bottle ever fails due to a manufacturing defect, we'll make it right. We build our bottles to last a lifetime, and we stand by that guarantee.
Can I heat my Nuataaq bottle over a stovetop or open flame?
No. Do not put any insulated Nuataaq bottles over a stovetop or open flame.
How do I clean my Nuataaq bottle?
We design our bottles to be as easy to clean as possible. Please visit the Detailed Care Instructions page and select your bottle to see its care instructions.
Can my Carabiner Bottle hold my weight?
No. Despite being made from 7075 forged aluminum, the same material as many climbing carabiners, our carabiner is NOT intended for holding the weight of a human being of any size.
Are Nuataaq water bottles worth it?
We certainly think so. The built in carabiner and waveform grip extends the usefulness of a durable, well insulated, high quality, and extremely functional bottle. For outdoors, travel, and adventure, we have yet to find a better bottle.
How do I pronounce Nuataaq?
New - Uh - Tok. Our name was inspired by the Noatak river in Alaska's Gates of the Artic National Park, renowned as one of the last pristine, wild and undisturbed rivers in North America.
Why is there a small gap at the top and bottom of the carabiner?
Great question! That little gap is by design. It gives the carabiner enough flex to absorb impacts and hold its shape if the bottle takes a tumble.
In short, we built the carabiner to bounce back when things get rough.
